چکیده

hemorrhage had been found in the posterior circulation such as vertebral artery in majority cases, but reported cases in the anterior circulation was rare. Those located in the anterior circulation usually manifest as ischemic stroke resulting from arterial stenosis or occlusion. However, spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage in these cases is rare. So, we report a case of dissecting aneurysm of pericallosal artery presenting with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage, as treated with endovascular occlusion by Guglielmi Detachable Coil (GDC).

Increased oxygen extraction demonstrated on gradient echo (T2*) imaging in a patient with acute ischaemic stroke.

Conclusion These 2 case reports emphasize the difficulties of the neuro-radiological diagnosis and of the decision-making for the management of hemorrhagic dissection of the ACA. The second patient was surgically treated but, unfortunately, the wrapping of the dissected arterial wall could not prevent the recurrence of the hemorrhage. On the other hand, the follow-up showed that the dissection ...

Microsurgical and endovascular management of pericallosal aneurysms.

BACKGROUND Pericallosal, or A2 bifurcation, aneurysms are an infrequently encountered cause of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). While the International Subarachnoid Aneurysm Trial showed improved outcomes for patients with any ruptured anterior circulation aneurysm treated with embolization, there was also a higher recurrence rate for embolized aneurysms. Notably, there were relatively few perica...

Cerebral Dissecting Aneurysms in Patients with Essential Thrombocythemia

The etiologies of intracranial artery dissection are various, the exogenous as well as inherited connective tissue disorders. We report on a patient who presented with diffuse subarachnoid hemorrhage who had been suffered from essential thrombocythemia. He was diagnosed to multiple dissecting aneurysms of left superior cerebellar artery, left posterior inferior cerebellar artery and right peric...

Endovascular Treatment in Ruptured Middle Cerebral Artery Dissection Preservation of Arterial Continuity

Rupture of spontaneous dissecting aneurysms of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) is rare and its etiology remains obscure, although the risk of rebleeding is greater than with saccular aneurysms. Most reports concerning the treatment of a ruptured dissecting aneurysm of the anterior circulation involve surgical trapping or wrapping. Here, we report on a case of an MCA dissecting rupture treated ...

Two Cases of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage from Spontaneous Anterior Cerebral Artery Dissection : A Case of Simultaneous Hemorrhage and Ischemia Without Aneurysmal Formation and Another Case of Hemorrhage with Aneurysmal Formation

Spontaneous anterior cerebral artery (ACA) dissection, although extremely rare, is often associated with severe morbidity and mortality. It could lead to cerebral hemorrhage, ischemic stroke, or, rarely, combination of hemorrhage and ischemia due to hemodynamic changes. Prompt and accurate diagnosis is essential for determining the appropriate management. However, the optimal treatment for ACA ...
